    An end of summer trip to Disneyland with The Collins' and our adopted (sort of) daughter and one of Emmas' best friends for life, Kaitlin. This year is an important year for these girls. It's the beginning of their Senior year in high school and a time to have fun and enjoy life's finer moments. So we visited Southern California, Huntington Beach, Disneyland, Universal Studios and Hollywood. And we had a great time doing it all in a convertible Mustang. 20140829-DSCF2820

    Hollywood, Wow, what a crazy place this is. The walk of stars, the hand prints, the impersonators, the wanna-be's. And the traffic. It's just one long line of continuously slow moving traffic. 20140830-DSCF3116

    On our first day in town we picked up the Mustang, loaded the bags, dropped the top and headed straight for the beach. Sunny, beautiful and long sandy beaches., The beginning of a perfect vacation.

    Pizza at Napels

    Our fun wasn't limited to site seeing, amusement parks, beaches and movie stars. We had loads of fun eating for six days too. One of our favorite places to eat is a restaurant in Downtown Disney known as Napels. Really good italian and some of the best pizza you'll get anywhere. These two loved it and so did we. What we couldn't eat at dinner became breakfast the next day. 20140827-DSCF2607

  • Seriously? Is this a good Mom or what? After a seriously long day of walking in temperatures in the high 90's, Lisa gives the girls a little foot relief in preparation for going back out for the night shift. Thank you Mom. I got one too. And reciprocated.

    This was a fun thing to do. The Universal Studios Tour of their "Backlot" The coolest part was seeing how realistic everything looks and how tiny it all appears in relationship to how big it all looks in the movies. The tricks they do are just amazing. I came away believing that absolutely nothing you see in the movies is in anyway real. 20140830-DSCF3017

  • So, Lisa picked the days we were to go on this trip to Disneyland based on her research and intuition. And boy was she ever right. And boy did she let us and everyone she came in contact with know how right she was. The streets were virtually empty for our first few days there and it made riding rides and sightseeing super nice. You sure called that one right.
